 Lyveden New Bield

Lyveden is an incomplete Elizabethan House and is now owned by the National Trust.  The house is fascinating, and visitors can walk through the unfinished rooms.  The grounds are beautiful and there are many walks and lots of wildlife and activities to keep all ages interested.

 Burghley House and Garden of Surprises

Burghley House is one of the largest and grandest surviving houses of the sixteenth century and is well worth a visit during your stay.  It sits on the outskirts of Stamford and is only a 20-minute drive from Missy’s House.  The House, Park and Gardens are extensive, and will keep all ages entertained.

In the house there are at least six different tours that you can book – including a seasonal “spooky” Halloween tour.  There are many different areas of the gardens to explore; the sculpture gardens, the gardens of surprise and the deer park with walks and cycle tracks.  There is a restaurant, café, ice cream stall and lots of space for picnics.  Throughout the year there are many events – food fairs, Christmas shopping, The Burghley Battle Proms, outdoor concerts and the International Burghley Horse Trials. in September.
