This is the closest pub to Missy’s House. It re-opened in November under new management, and it seems to be doing well. The food is good and the staff are friendly. It is walking distance - approximately 2 miles / 40 minutes (along footpaths .and fields).
Accessibility: Plenty of wheelchair users go to the pub but there are a few single steps and no rails etc in the loos, so it is not ideal.

Good food and friendly staff. Great for puddings. Near to Wakerley Woods if you’re going walking or mountain biking. The large outside area is pretty and well designed
RC Review 22/12/2023: Under new management –
Accessibility: Access to and within the inside and outside of the building is good with ramps and no steps. Unfortunately there is no designated disabled loo and no allowance has been made for wheelchair users inside the loos . i.e. there are no rails, and the space is very tight.

RC Review 29/06/2023: The owner Ralph is really friendly, and the food has an excellent reputation. I have not eaten there myself for a while.
Accessibility: There are a couple of steps at the main entrance. Staff are happy to assist wheelchair users although sadly the loos are not wheelchair accessible.

Recently renovated. Very good but pricey food. Fancy and expensive pizzas. All worth it if you are prepared to pay a little more than you might expect.
RC Review 01/06/2023: The food is still very good. On Mondays they do a main course for £5:00. With most other places closed on a Monday this is the perfect choice.
Accessibility: Very good. There are no steps and there is a dedicated accessible loo.

Dogs allowed in the garden and the patio area. Large boules/petanque area. The pub has been owned and run by the same couple for at least 25 years. Traditional and reliable. Lyddington is a pretty ironstone village.
Accessibility: They have a disabled loo and the bar and bathrooms are easily accessible.

RC Review 14/06/2023 Pretty pub in a pretty village. The menu is divided into two, one half is Indian food and the other traditional pub food. Kathy and I had Indian food which was good although we preferred the atmosphere at Sarpech in Oakham.
Accessibility: The pub is all on one level so accessible for wheelchairs and there is a disabled loo.

RC Review 30/06/2023 The menu is good for carnivores particularly for those who like eating game and squirrels. They have squirrel pie on the menu. I didn’t try it. Apparently, it is quite like rabbit.

RC Review 01/12/2022. On the Rutland Water cycle path. Review by Rupert Conant. The food is pretty average, however it is a good place for a drink if you are cycling around Rutland Water.

Accessibility: A fully accessible pub with ramps and a disabled loo.

RC Review 24/05/2022: A little further away but worth it especially if you are going to wild swim in the Nene. The King’s Head is beside the river in this very pretty village. Excellent for breakfast and afternoon tea.
Accessibility: They have ramps available and disabled parking spaces. Wheelchair users can easily access the tearoom and garden terrace. There is a disabled loo.
