Outdoor Activities

A good place to start when planning your stay is Discover Rutland: www.discover-rutland.co.uk

It is a great website with lots of information about things to do in Rutland

Walking

There are lots of lovely walks straight form Missy’s House and we have included a footpath map with some suggested routes.  You will also find an OS Map in the house and two books called Will’s Walks One and Two which suggest some good local walks in Rutland, Northamptonshire and further afield.

www.northamptonshirewalks.co.uk is a great website with over 175 walks in Northamptonshire.

There is also a section for accessible walks.

Fishing

Fishing is available at both Rutland Water and the Eyebrook Reservoir. It is predominately trout fly fishing and all ages and abilities can get involved.  You can book lessons or boat hire is available for the more experienced.

Tennis

There is a tennis court on the Estate for guests to use.  It is a short walk (5 minutes) from Missy’s House.  There is a bag of old balls that you can use but these would not be good enough for match play.  To book the court, please call  or WhatsApp Rupert on 07764 182 870 or Kate on 07968 450 025.

Corby Tennis Centre

The tennis centre has eight indoor and six outdoor courts and they have a “pay and play” option so membership is not required.

Accessibility:   They have an accessible changing room and a hoist available to help swimmers in and out of the pool if necessary.  They have family swim sessions on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 3.30 – 4.30 and weekends from 11 – 12 noon.  The charges are £5 per adult and £4 per child and I would recommend booking as it can get busy in the holidays.

Corby East Midlands International Pool

The centre has a 50m pool, fun pool, diving boards and a variety of gym equipment, a group exercise studio, a café and a creche.  Please look online for public swimming times and the gym timetable.
